Shopify E-commerce Design

Objective

Create a visually appealing and fully responsive e-commerce platform that aligns with the client’s plant-focused brand identity while providing a seamless shopping experience and customer support.

Logo Redesign

Redesigned the logo to create a more modern and distinctive identity for The Realm of Leaf. Shifted from a minimal text-based layout to a bold, stacked typographic composition to improve visual hierarchy and brand recognition.

Design Process

Competitive Analysis - Reviewed several specialty plant retailers and premium botanical brands to understand common e-commerce patterns and customer expectations. This helped inform decisions around navigation, product presentation, and trust-building elements.


Brand Exploration

The visual identity was developed to reflect the experience of collecting rare tropical plants. A deep green color palette was paired with warm cream typography and a hand-drawn logo to create a brand that feels natural, inviting, and premium.


Information Architecture

Product collections, accessories, and store information were grouped into clear categories, allowing users to easily discover items while keeping key actions such as search, account access, and the shopping cart readily available.


UI Design + Web Development

The UI was designed to showcase plant photography while maintaining a clean and intuitive shopping experience. Large imagery, generous spacing, and consistent typography help emphasize product quality.

Conclusive

The Realm of Leaf originally operated exclusively through Facebook and Facebook Marketplace, relying on direct messages to manage orders, shipping details, and customer inquiries. As the business continued to grow, the owner sought a dedicated e-commerce platform to expand their reach and streamline daily operations.


By designing and developing an online store, customers were able to browse products, place orders, and access store information independently. The transition to an e-commerce experience resulted in a 230% increase in customers and a 178% increase in sales following the website launch. In addition to strengthening the brand’s identity and online presence, the new platform significantly improved operational efficiency by automating order management, generating shipping labels, and reducing the time spent coordinating purchases through social media messages.
